What to Do if You’re In an Accident
If you are in an accident, we recommend you NOT contact the other driver’s insurance company: let us do that for you. The job of the insurance adjuster is NOT to help you, but is to help the company shareholders. After a car crash, most people feel much worse the day FOLLOWING the accident. The insurance industry knows this and will try to get you to give them a recorded statement the day of the accident. We recommend you NOT give a recorded statement – ever!!! It can only hurt you in the long run.
We recommend you see your primary care physician, a trusted physical therapist, or a trusted chiropractor within a day or two following the accident to make a report of the pain you are feeling at that time. Remember, if there is no medical record of the injuries, the insurance company will not believe any injuries exist. It is critical you tell your physician each part of your body that hurts (the easiest way to do this is to work from head to toe).
